Industrial Ergonomics and Biomechanics Laboratory

The Industrial Ergonomics and Biomechanics Laboratory conducts work in theoretical and applied ergonomics, occupational biomechanics and work physiology, primarily relating to worksite, workstation, and equipment evaluation and design. Specifically, research is focused on: biomechanics of the human body; (modeling, strength, motions, and working postures); human engineering of systems, equipment, tools, workstations, and work tasks; and ergonomic design for safety, efficiency, and performance.

  • Conducts work in:
    • Industrial Ergonomics
    • Localized Muscle Fatigue (LMF)
    • Occupational Biomechanics
    • Work Physiology
    • Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSD) Prevention and Control
  • Models human behaviors and consumer product design

Lab Directors:
Maury Nussbaum, Ph.D. and Kari Babski-Reeves, Ph.D.
